Electricity Amendment Act 2006 and the new Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010
For new trainee licence requirement, refer to the
Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) website.
With the new regulations coming into force on 1 April 2010, there is a requirement for some future and current trainees to hold a limited licence issued by the Electrical Workers Registration Board.
The licence application is to be completed by the trainee and signed by a person qualifying as a ‘supervisor’ under the above Act and Regulations.
- Supervision is now designated as Prescribed Electrical Work (PEW).
- The licence is required before a trainee is involved in any PEW.
A copy of the of the
background information and
supervision procedures for trainees is available for download here or from the
EWRB.
