ESITO is committed to providing strategic leadership to the Electricity Supply Industry on current and future skills needs. We do this by undertaking specific research involving companies and trainees. Our aim is to utilise sound method and research techniques to:

• Better understand the skills requirements or competencies needed by the Industry
• Identify the barriers and enablers for trainees to achieve these competencies
• Identify labour force requirements and any shortages.

Research is used to:

• Inform our qualifications and product development processes
• Inform our trainees’ support and coordination processes
• Identify long-term and immediate skills shortages
• Inform all our stakeholders.
