Operator

The ESITO operator qualifications will enable you to train as either a network or hydro operator. Either pathway consists of three qualifications, at Levels 2, 3, and 4. The Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications contain generic skills required by all operators. At Level 4, different qualifications are offered for network or hydro operations.

Qualification  Level  Description 
National Certificate in Electricity Supply  2 

This is an entry level qualification for people with limited direct work experience already employed in the Electricity Supply industry. It is also intended for school leavers entering the industry. 

The qualification covers generic workplace skills such as communication and safety and a selection of electricity supply skills directly related to the industry. 
National Certificate in Electricity Supply Operator with strands in Network and Hydro Operator, and Thermal Operator 
 		 3  The Level 3 qualification builds on the skills taught at Level 2 and introduces candidates to basic skills required by operators in both the network and hydro sectors, and the thermal sector. 
National Certificate in Electricity Supply Network Operator 4  The Level 4 qualification builds on the skills covered in the Level 3 qualification and specialises in the skills required to undertake a network operator role. 
National Certificate in Electricity Supply Hydro Operator 4 This Level 4 qualification builds on the skills covered in the Level 3 qualification and specialises in the skills required to undertake a hydro operator role.
